Prayer Beads for Kids

Folks have been using this tactile prayer tool since at least 10,000 BCE! They are found in numerous faiths across the globe including Christianity, Hinuism, Buddhism, Islam, and Janism.

There are countless types of beads from the rosary to mala beads. And, you can always make up your own!

There are lots of versions of prayer beads from Christian traditions such as those that use the Lord’s Prayer, Psalm 23, the Days of Creation, or the traditional rosary.

Tori usually keeps some string and a bucket of beads, including crosses, in her office for emergency crafting (yes, that’s right, emergency crafting). Folks of all ages, and especially youth and young adults, seem to enjoy beading when they need something to do with their hands during meetings.
