No Easter season is complete without Jesus’ appearence to his followers in the locked room! This is also a great opportunity, if you’re reading John, to return to the I Am statement from John 10:9.
I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture. (CEB)
Although gate us a poor translation into English, the Greek reads more like “door”. But we don’t think of doors and sheep, now do we!
Connect the two stories with a colouring and scrissor craft. Make your own from scratch or use our template.
Instructions
The disciples are gathered together in the house, not sure what to do with Jesus gone. But, wait, whose that who has appeared! It couldn’t be Jesus, could it?
Print your template on white or coloured paper (stiffer paper like cardstock works best).
Decorate your doors.
Adults may need to help with cutting out the solid lines of the door, fold along the dotted line.
On a second piece of paper draw your surprised disciples.
Glue your doors ontop of the second sheet of paper so, when opened, you can see your drawing.
